RecyCam Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how RecyCam (“the App”), developed and provided by AmateLab. (“we,” “us,” or “our”), accesses, processes, stores, and shares information.
1. Scope and basic approach
RecyCam turns an Android device into an RTSP camera or viewer. It is designed primarily for use on a trusted local network. The App does not require an AmateLab. account, and AmateLab. does not operate a cloud server that receives users’ camera streams, recordings, settings, or viewing history.
The current version does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs operated for AmateLab.
2. Information processed by the App
Camera, microphone, and media
When you enable sending, viewing, talkback, scanning, screenshots, or recording, the App may process camera images, video, audio, QR code contents, and media files you select. This processing is necessary to provide the feature you choose.
Local network and camera information
The App may process local IP addresses, network availability, RTSP URLs, camera or device names, connection history, connection status, authentication credentials you enter, and local discovery messages. These are used to discover, connect to, authenticate with, and manage cameras on networks you choose.
App settings and local history
Stream settings, registered cameras, display preferences, connection and streaming history, recording schedules, and other configuration data are stored locally on your device.
Google Play purchase information
If paid features are offered, purchases are handled by Google Play Billing. The App may receive and locally cache purchase status, product information, and transaction state needed to unlock or restore a purchase. AmateLab. does not receive your full payment card details. Google processes purchase data under its own Privacy Policy.
3. How information is used
- To send and receive RTSP video and audio as requested by you.
- To discover and connect to devices on your local network.
- To save screenshots, recordings, settings, and history locally.
- To provide foreground-service and recording notifications.
- To verify, restore, and manage optional Google Play purchases.
- To diagnose connection issues using information shown to you in the App.
4. Sharing and network transmission
RecyCam sends video, audio, control requests, and related connection information only to the RTSP clients, cameras, or RecyCam devices you configure or discover on the network. AmateLab. does not receive these streams.
Purchase requests and purchase status may be exchanged with Google Play when billing features are used. The App may also open your device’s operating-system sharing interface when you explicitly choose to share an RTSP URL or other content.
AmateLab. does not sell users’ personal or sensitive information.
5. Storage, retention, and deletion
App settings, camera entries, credentials, history, and app-managed recordings are retained on your device until you delete them, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App. Features in the App allow you to delete registered cameras, history, and recordings.
Screenshots, videos, or exported files saved to your device’s gallery or another user-selected location may remain after the App is uninstalled. Delete those files using your device’s gallery or file-management tools. Google may retain purchase records according to its own legal and service requirements.
Because RecyCam does not create an AmateLab. account or upload this local data to an AmateLab. server, AmateLab. generally has no remote copy to retrieve or delete.
6. Android permissions
- Camera: RTSP sending, preview, QR scanning, and camera-related features.
- Microphone: audio streaming, talkback, and audio-related recording features.
- Network access and Wi-Fi state: local discovery, RTSP connections, and Google Play Billing.
- Notifications and foreground services: ongoing streaming or recording while the App is not in the foreground.
- Storage on older Android versions: saving screenshots or recordings to shared storage.
- Wake lock: helping an active stream continue while the device is in use for this purpose.
7. Security and local-network risks
RecyCam provides authentication options and local control tokens for supported features. However, standard RTSP and some local control traffic are not encrypted. Anyone with access to the same network may be able to observe or attempt to access exposed services if they are not protected.
Use the App only on a trusted network, enable authentication where appropriate, use strong credentials, and do not expose RecyCam’s ports directly to the public internet. You are responsible for the security of the network and devices you connect.
8. Children
RecyCam is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. AmateLab. does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the App’s features, SDKs, or data practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
